Gotland School of Art offers two one year courses:

Foundation course with options
Contemporary Art course with options

The Contemporary Art course requires the Foundation course or equivalent.

We teach a broad range of artistic techniques in order to prepare our students for further study in art at university level. We give the creative process both time and space, with 24-hour access for students to our well-equipped premises.



The teaching staff consists of well-qualified professional artists, designers and craftsmen. Visiting artists, filmmakers, architects, philosophers, authors and guest lecturers also participate in the courses with lectures and seminars.



The fee for each term in the one-year programmes is 8,500 SEK. Students in the one-year programmes are eligible to apply for a grant from the Swedish Board of Education (CSN).

Gotland School of Art is an independent school at complementary level, approved by the Department of Education. It is run by Folkuniversitetet.
